When I started researching many years ago, I had no idea we belonged to such a fascinating family.  Ship builders and sea captains, sailors and pioneers,  war heroes, and prison guards.  An ornithologist, pub owners, mysterious deaths, an obligatory ghost or two, and that is just the beginning. Our nation is built on the bones of our family.  Strong, enduring people with an adventurous spirit, a strong faith and the will to succeed. We need only go forward, remembering who we came from and keeping the same strong and vibrant spirit that is our heritage.
